FAQ
1.What to do if the drawer lock cannot be opened?
If the drawer lock is simply stuck, you can try to turn the cabinet upside down and shake the drawer to make the pins in the lock fall out, so as to unlock the drawer, but this method is suitable for the case where the cabinet is not too large or not too full.
You can also use a screwdriver to insert it from the gap between the top of the drawer and the cabinet, pry upward, so that the metal buckle on the top of the drawer passes over the metal lock tongue, so as to open the drawer, but this method may damage the cabinet.
If none of the above methods can open it, you can also use an electric drill, hold the cabinet against the wall for support, place the drill bit in the center of the cabinet lock, and start drilling. The power and torque of the electric drill will make the lock pop out from the inside, but this will damage the lock and need to be replaced with a new one.
2.What to do if the metal lock tongue of the drawer lock is bent?
First, use a screwdriver to unscrew the screws that fix the lock tongue, remove the lock from the drawer, then put the lock in a vise, use a wrench to bend the metal lock tongue back to its original position, and then reinstall the lock.
What to do if the pins of the drawer lock are bent?
The lock needs to be removed and the lock housing opened. The bent pin is easy to find. You can use pliers to gently bend it back to its original position. Be careful to use gentle force and only bend it a little at a time. Then reassemble the lock housing, test the lock with the key to see if it works properly, and then install it back on the drawer.
3.What if the drawer lock is not aligned with the lock plate?
Use a screwdriver to adjust the screws on the lock plate until the lock fits tightly against the lock plate
4.How to choose the right drawer lock?
Consider security needs. High-value items may require a more secure cabinet lock, such as a cam lock with a cylindrical lock cylinder, while furniture cam locks are a good choice for low-value items.
Choose according to the user. If it is for personal use, choose a lock that is easy to operate; if it is a commercial or shared space, choose a lock that is easy for authorized users to use.
Consider key management. If multiple furniture locks are required, consider whether they should use the same key or whether they should belong to a master key system. Good key management is essential for convenience and security.
5.Choose according to appearance needs. Does the lock need to be hidden or decorative?
Consider durability. If the lock will be used frequently, choose a sturdy material that can withstand wear and tear, such as steel, stainless steel, and zinc alloy.
