FAQ

1.How do I determine the best location for a drawer lock?

Considering the convenience of daily use, the lock should be easy for adults to reach but out of the reach of children. At the same time, make sure that the lock does not interfere with the function of the cabinet or drawer. For example, for a pull-out drawer, you may need to choose a lock that can be installed on the side or back.

Generally, it is a good choice to install the lock in the center of the drawer, so that the lock tongue can effectively lock the drawer and prevent it from being easily pulled open.

2.What should I pay attention to when installing a drawer lock?

Make sure the installation area is clean and free of clutter. Place the lock on the cabinet or drawer, mark the screw holes with a pencil after aligning the position, and then use an electric screwdriver or a regular screwdriver to firmly fix the lock to the surface.

Use a suitable tool to drill holes or make grooves for the lock, following the manufacturer's guidelines for the size and depth of the holes. If using a chisel lock, you may need to use a chisel.  Pay attention to the alignment of the lock components during installation, such as the lock plate and the lock tongue, otherwise the lock may not operate smoothly.

Use screws to firmly fix the lock to the surface, ensuring that the lock fits tightly to the surface and does not move.  After installation, test the lock several times to ensure that it can be unlocked and locked smoothly without any jamming or sticking.

2.What should I do if the drawer lock gets stuck or stuck during use?

You can add a small amount of graphite lubricant to the keyhole, and then gently insert and remove the key several times to evenly distribute the lubricant.

3.How to maintain the drawer lock to extend its service life?

Regularly check the various parts of the lock to see if there is any looseness or damage, and tighten or replace them in time.  Keep the lock clean to prevent dust and dirt from entering the lock and affecting its normal operation.  For some metal locks, pay attention to moisture and rust prevention. You can apply a thin layer of lubricating oil on the surface of the lock to prevent rust.
