New Mechanical Combination Lock Designed by Nick Gartner
Traditional mechanical combination locks have the problem of "forbidden areas" and require "spline" operation during installation, which is prone to errors. The lock designed by Nick Gartner has a lock cylinder with a cam that is not threaded and is not splined with the key, avoiding the spline problem. At the same time, the lock has a smaller "forbidden area" range from 0 to 10, reducing the risk of deadlock due to improper setting.
The lock cylinder uses a 6mm square shaft with a cutout point and a star-shaped washer in the lock shaft hole. The lock cover does not need to be removed for installation, allowing the shaft to be quickly and accurately inserted into the lock, saving installation time and cost, and avoiding problems such as spline errors or loose keys.
An integrated deadbolt retainer and re-locking device are also designed, as well as an optional auxiliary deadbolt for three-way locking, which are not available in currently produced locks.
